Samaritan Awards Dinner
The Annual Good Samaritan Awards Dinner serves as our major fundraising event of the year. The awards are given to individuals in our community who exemplify the spirit of the biblical Good Samaritan in their everyday lives. That is, someone who has demonstrated a desire to help others without any expectation of reward or recognition for their actions. People do not need to be Catholic to be nominated or to receive this award and do not have to be associated with Catholic Charities in any way. A call for nominations is sent out to the community each year, typically in early September. Then a committee of the Catholic Charities Board of Directors meets to select the honorees from all the nominations received. Below is a summary of the Awards Dinners from recent years and the names of those folks who were honored: 15th Annual Good Samaritan Awards Dinner Held Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Renaissance Resort Hotel at World Golf Village.
