We currently need volunteers for the following positions:

•  Board Members

Help to guide the direction of the programs we provide and to maintain the financial security of the agency. You do not need to be on the Board to belong to one of the committees (Financial, Personnel, Program, and Fund Raising).

•    Front Desk Receptionist

Volunteers are needed to greet the people we serve and others who come to our office, answer phones, and assist with office work.

•   Food Pantry

We need volunteers to pick up donated food from local food drives, to help distribute food during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons (both in our office and by delivering to those confined to their homes), and to identify and develop additional food sources.  Click here to read a detailed description of the various food drives in which we participate.

•   Thrift Shop Workers

Our Thrift Shop is open every Friday (except from early November to mid January) from 9:30am to 3:30pm.  We need cashiers and workers to help sort donated items that we receive.  Any item donated to us that the people we serve do not need is sold in the Thrift Shop, with ALL proceeds going to our Homeless Prevention program to aid those requiring direct financial assistance.

•    Budget Counselor

Help our Homeless Prevention clients learn better money management skills.

•   Good Samaritan Awards Dinner Committee

This dinner honors three to five people from the community who exemplify the spirit of the Biblical Good Samaritan.  Sponsors and underwriters are needed to raise funds, and members are needed for the Honoree, Sponsorship and Publicity committees.  The dinner is held in April and nominations are accepted through the end of January.
