We currently need volunteers for the following positions:

•  Board Members

Help to guide the direction of the programs we provide and to maintain the financial security of the agency. You do not need to be on the Board to belong to one of the committees (Finance, Fundraising and Programs).

•    Front Desk Receptionist

Volunteers are needed to answer phones, greet the clients we serve and others who come to our office and assist with office work such as data entry.

•   Food Pantry

We need volunteers to pick up donated food from local food drives, to help distribute food during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons (both in our office and by delivering to those confined to their homes), and to identify and develop additional food sources.  Click here to read a detailed description of the various food drives in which we participate.

•   Thrift Shop Workers

Our Thrift Shop is open every Friday (except from early-November to mid-January) from 9:30am to 3:30pm.  We need cashiers and workers to help sort donated items that we receive.  Any item donated to us that the people we serve do not need is sold in the Thrift Shop, with ALL proceeds going to our Homeless Prevention program to aid those requiring direct financial assistance.

•    Budget Counselor

Help our Homeless Prevention clients learn better money management skills.

•   Good Samaritan Awards Dinner Committee

This annual dinner serves as our major fundraising event of the year, in which we honor three to five people from the community who exemplify the spirit of the biblical Good Samaritan in their everyday lives.  Help is needed in the areas of soliciting items for our Silent Auction, seeking financial support in the form of sponsorships, and planning and set-up the night of the event.  Please click here to read more about the history and significance of this annual gala.
