reflect the compassion and love of God in Christ by
providing service to those in need, by advocating
justice, and by calling all people of good
will to join in these efforts.
Welcome to
Catholic Charities
at the
Della Love Center in St. Augustine, Florida. Since 1975, we have provided assistance
to residents of St. Johns, Putnam and Flagler
counties. The St. Augustine Regional Office has shared in the mission and traditions of the Catholic Church since 1944. At first, the area was served by staff from the
Jacksonville Regional Office.
However, in December of 1975, the first "official" office was opened in St. Augustine by Father O'Flaherty. This office was housed at San Sebastian Catholic Church, located on
State Road 16.
In 1997, we moved into a larger facility on West
King Street in downtown St. Augustine.
Over the years, the St. Augustine Regional Office has grown into a multi-faceted agency that served more than 10,000 people in our surrounding communities last year, primarily families with minor children as well as senior citizens. Our programs and services include emergency assistance with rent/mortgage and utility bills, individual, family and mental health counseling, emergency food assistance and adoptions. Our services are offered to all people regardless of religious affiliation, gender, race or ethnic origin. Now more than ever, families in crisis are looking for assistance to pay their monthly bills. They are struggling to keep food on the table for their children. They are looking for help. In order to continue serving our growing clientele, we need the support of caring citizens. Please help us to help them.
