With your help, Catholic Charities St. Augustine has been serving the people of northeast Florida for more than 50 years. Our programs tackle hunger and homelessness among our community’s most vulnerable, connecting them with critical resources to help them get back on their feet. As you decorate your home for the holidays to welcome family and friends, know there are still so many in our community who do not have food to eat or a home to go to at the end of the day.
Rose, a senior living on a fixed income recently reached out for assistance. Due to her landlord's rising costs, Rose was informed that her rent would be increasing once again; something she could not afford. Facing homelessness at the age of 89, she was desperate for help and reached out to Catholic Charities. Rose was referred to one of our dedicated case managers who immediately worked to help find an affordable place to live. Catholic Charities was able to pay Rose’s move-in costs and set up utilities for her new home. Rose has also become a participant in our Compassion To-Go program and now receives food twice a month. Every dollar you donate makes a critical difference in the lives of local families, seniors, and individuals in need, people like Rose.
In times as unstable as these, we are reminded of the transformative power of generosity and grace. Through your gifts, people like Rose can get the help they need to get back on their feet again. Every dollar donated goes directly to people in need; providing food for the hungry, helping families stay in their homes, and providing homes for the homeless.
